In response to the severe floods affecting various regions, Santo Nicholas School initiated a donation drive to support communities in Aceh Tamiang and Sibolga. Guided by the spirit of care and solidarity, the school community came together to help those impacted by the natural disaster.
Under the message, “As a gesture of care, we invite you to participate in a voluntary donation program to help provide clothing, food supplies, and basic infrastructure recovery. All proceeds will be donated to those affected by the natural disasters,” the donation drive was carried out within a limited time frame. Despite the short collection period, the response from students, teachers, and parents was overwhelming. In just a few days, the school successfully raised IDR 75,598,958.

Beyond monetary donations, students played an active role in the fundraising process. Grade 11 and Grade 12 students were invited to raise funds internally by selling food and drinks to students and teachers during break times. This initiative not only helped increase the funds collected but also strengthened students’ sense of responsibility and teamwork.
In addition, Grade 12 students took charge of purchasing daily necessities using the collected funds. These included essential items such as rice, cooking oil, sugar, hygiene products, mattresses, and other basic needs. Students from various levels were also involved in packing the donated items into boxes and assisting with transporting them to the vehicles prepared for delivery.
The donations were dispatched separately to Aceh Tamiang and Sibolga, with the Sibolga donations delivered through Paroki Katedral St. Theresia Lisieux Sibolga. The collective effort reflected the school’s commitment to empathy, service, and community engagement.
One senior high school student shared their thoughts, saying, “I’m glad we got to do something to help those who are severely affected by the flood.”
Through this donation drive, Santo Nicholas School demonstrated that compassion in action, no matter how small, can make a meaningful difference. The initiative served as a powerful reminder of the impact of unity, kindness, and social responsibility.
