Bringing Stories to Life Through Movement, Creativity, and Courage

“This is the first time I have become one of the main characters. I felt both afraid and excited at the same time, especially because I had to memorize my lines. But now I’m really happy I did it!” shared one of the students after the Books in Motion event.
On Sunday, 16 November 2025, students from Preschool to Grade 6 proudly performed nine different story performances at STBA PIA, marking a historic moment for Santo Nicholas School. Unlike previous years, where the program focused on a single title, this year’s Books in Motion brought nine books to life on one stage, an extraordinary leap in creativity, teamwork, and storytelling.
Despite having only minimal preparation time, the students demonstrated remarkable effort in practicing narration, movement, dialogue, and singing. Each grade level breathed life into beloved stories, transforming the stage into forests, magical factories, candy houses, and enchanted lakes through their expressive performances.

For many students, this experience marked their first time performing in a multi-story production. Some faced nervousness, new responsibilities, and the challenge of learning lines and cues. Yet, with encouragement from teachers and peers, they persevered, worked together, and eventually stepped on stage with confidence and joy.

Miss Illa, one of the form teachers behind the event, expressed her heartfelt pride: “Watching the students grow through this process has been truly inspiring. With limited time and nine different stories to prepare, they showed responsibility, creativity, and incredible courage. I am so proud of how they supported one another and how beautifully they brought each book to life. This event is a celebration of their hard work and their love for stories.”
Books in Motion 2025 became more than a performance; it became a space where imagination met teamwork, where characters leapt to life from the pages, and where students discovered confidence they did not know they had. For everyone present, it was a memorable celebration of literature, creativity, and the spirit of learning.
